Stop home or business Invasion

Stop home or business Invasion

It is a fact that every twelve seconds a home is broken into.  This fact comes from the FBI and they tell us that these invasions are done right through the front door.  They call this entry, door frame failure and would you believe that two in the afternoon is the biggest time for this to occur?

This can make anyone take a better look at their door frame and then find out what they can do to prevent a break in like this.  Whether you want to secure your home or business, you can go online and find many ways that security doors can give you peace of mind. Security doors are tested to handle drilling, cutting and levering so your valuables that are inside will remain safe and protected.

How about that back door to your business?  When you install a steel hinged security door, that person trying to break in will spend more time trying to enter and this can be a great deterrent. Put a stop to this type of invasion with a security door that is tested to meet the standards that insurance companies require.  With on online search, you are sure to find the right security door to give you peace of mind.

DIY Tip #104: Sell Junk Cars for Cash

If you have an old car sitting next to the house, it might be time to consider calling someone to come and take it away. Or maybe, you simply want to go online and send an email, and have someone come by to pick it up. Well the good news is that either option is open to you today if you have a junk car or truck, and are looking to get rid of it.

Maybe it seems like getting cash for junk cars is an offer too good to be true – that there is no way anyone would want the pile of crap sitting there, collecting rust spots. You would be mistaken to think this way, for there are many uses for the materials that go into any automobile, and a salvage yard has the means to make this “worthless” car in to something reusable.

If you live in a major metropolitan area, the chances are good that you will have more than one option to choose from. In this case, you might want to review the different providers to make sure that you are getting the most money possible for your junk car.

If you live in a more secluded or rural area, getting rid of a junk car may be a little more difficult – but typically, this is due to a dealer being able to warrant the trip out to pick up something with only marginal scrap value. Unfortuneately, this is why we see so many junked cars on farms, and out in the country – there is simply no inspiration to bring these to the scrap yards where they can be recycled.

How To Properly Secure A Casement Window

Everybody is concerned with security these days and that is exactly why you need to know how to properly secure a casement window. What most people don’t understand is that casement windows are already harder to open than sliding glass windows and the reason is because of the hidden hinges on the side of the window. What I mean by this is first a burglar would have to figure out which side the hinges are on and then they would have to figure out how the window opens. Most of the time a casement window uses a crank which is reinforced by a locking level to help secure the window and seal it from any outside air.

The first thing you need to do in order to properly secure a casement window is just make sure that it works properly. What I mean by this is you can’t be sure that a window is going to be safe unless you know for sure that it works the way it is supposed to. What most people don’t understand is how to check to make sure the window works the way it is supposed to. The first thing you need to do is shut the window and lock it if you can. Now that it is shut and locked you need to push against it in all corners, if the window pops out then it is not working right and must get a new one. If the casement window does pass the test and is working like it should then the one thing I would recommend getting are window alarms to stick on the top of the window. The reason why I recommend sticking them to the tops of a window is because most people looking to break into a house will look at the bottom and the sides for a latch or handle and never bother to look at the top.
